Update 9/30

Big changes, but not substantial changes. Major Updates - Fitness is now decoupled from weight. You can be fat but in relatively good shape. Eventually, your level of fat will directly affect how fit you can be (though it would be hard to hit the cap of fitness without also reducing fat). - Player description has been changed to reflect a couple of new additions, notably butt size, hip size, and lip size. There is currently no way to influence these, but I'll be changing that on Monday. Minor Updates Apparently none. Bug Fixes - Fixed some previously unknown bugs with the Get Dressed command. - Other, minor stuff. As always, any bugs, please report. And suggestions, feel free to suggest. Any comments, I'm all ears. Any flames, die in a fire.

Update 9/29

It's an update! Yay! Major Updates - Werewolf TF is now finished, with a bad end if you go to far, and a cure if you don't give in at all. The event to GET the werewolf TF is still random, and therefore difficult to get. - New item, wolfsbane. Temporarily at the pharmacy until I find a better place for it. It reverses the effects of lycanthropy. It's not fully implemented (you can take it right there in the store and buy more), but I ran out of steam. Minor Updates - Changed the way the dildo panties work. They how increase your arousal with every action you take while they're on, as opposed to every time unit update. Bug Fixes  - The Skip Intro option now allows you to name your character, rather than giving you an assigned name. - I know I fixed some other stuff, but I couldn't tell you what. As always, any bugs, please report, any suggestions, please...suggest, and and process improvements are welcome (usually).

Update 9/28

I got some stuff done. Minor Update - Added some more stuff to the Werewolf TF. Which, now that I think about it, is a little broken, but oh well, I can fix that tomorrow. Other Changes - RAGS version updated to 2.2.10.0. Check the link in the changelog to download it. - Removed all the stuff dealing with Import/Export. Because 2.2.10.0 supports save game merging. It MAY BE BUGGY. Do NOT report to me problems with using old saves in new versions, because I can't do anything about it. Also, you can't use your old saves in THIS version, but you should be able to going forward (unless I note otherwise, due to variable changes or whatever).

Much too sick

I am not feeling better. I am feeling worse. No stream today. I might still work on the game, or I might pass out on the couch and dream of fruit cups for some reason. It's a toss up. Sorry, folks.

Update 9/26

Between the issues with Livestream not working and feeling like crap, I pretty much only did bug fixes and tweaks. Bug Fixes - Inhuman pregnancies have been tested and now confirmed to be working (slime girl and naga were bugged). - Changed how the game figures periods again. Still couldn't reproduce the errors people are reporting (I don't doubt they're happening, I just can't figure out why). - Goddess Treatment and Beauty Treatment are still repeatable, but you will be wasting money (see tweaks). - Cashmere overcoat can now be removed in the foyer. - Fixed some miscellaneous stuff with the one-night-stands at the bar. Like not being able to find certain people when your sexuality is at a certain level. - Fixed the time advancement when pregnant and working at the strip club. Time should properly advance now. Tweaks - The Goddess and Beauty Treatments now check to see if you have a facial, manicure and pedicure already. If you do, it refreshes them, but you don't

Update 9/23

Not necessarily what I thought I would get done, but hey, progress is progress! Major Additions - The "wolf howls" event will now lead to a partially implemented werewolf TF, if you get infected. There's currently no way to avoid it, but it also currently doesn't do much. Minor Additions - New random events: Propositioned for Sex, Lost Wallet, Man Being Mugged, Overheard Conversation "Mistress and Slave" and Asshole Confrontation. - Started introducing the morality system, though it's not implemented entirely (and you won't notice when it is, since it's the one variable you will never be able to see). Bug Fixes - Fixed the cat TF to allow tail change. - Some other minor bugs (mostly went unnoticed until I found them apparently). Worth Noting and Known Bugs - No, you can't use old saves with new versions. Yet. Apparently when RAGS 2.3.0.0 is released, that will be one of the major feature updates, which means I can finally take out Import/Exp

A question of scale “True-32”

Indulge me in a slight rant. Please be aware the new plastic line is 31 mm to the eye of a FULLY ERECT figure, posed, they range from 28-29.75mm to the center of the eye. As the bases are thinner than most, the figures are roughly the same height as most of the major manufacturers. -Example of scale comp- The subject of scale is one that many sculptors wrestle with, I am no acceptation. The use of digital technology to sculpt a miniature provides a certain amount of freedom, the miniature looks the same to me at 15mm or 50mm scale, I can make last minute adjustments on the fly and scale the miniature to my heart’s content. Ultimately, gamers want miniatures that look right with their other minis from manufacturer A, B or C. This is not as easy as it sounds. Place a true scale 28mm mini next to many manufacturers product and it will look small and emaciated by comparison. The whole 28mm scale convention is garbage if you ask me. As a Dakkite pointed out, I had the legs on the cannon backwards. I was thinking about the old wheeled gun carriage when I put the single leg to the rear. These are aimed turned by turning the complete carriage. As this is a pintle mount it would have fallen over when shot with this configuration  :- P It’s always good to have another set of eyes on these things… Here you can see the revised model and gunner position.

Update 9/22

Better late than never. Major Updates - The succubus will now stick around. Also, new bad end! (note: she is not fully implemented yet) Minor Updates - A new book is available, but only after you buy something sort of related (i.e. the black dildo). Bug Fixes - The inhuman pregnancies now properly increment time (week 2 doesn't last from day 8 to 11 of the pregnancy, in other words). - Probably some others, I don't know.

Update 9/21a

Hay guys, it's sum bug fixes! Minor Updates - Lactation naturally decreases over time, making it harder to get it higher, and possible to lose it entirely if you don't "keep it up", so to speak. Bug Fixes - Fixed the black halter top outfit not fitting when auto-worn. - Fixed the bug that prevented the breast pump from working more than once. Clarifications - The black dildo is now a little harder to buy (random chance of showing up in the adult store, befitting it's cursed/magical nature).

Sweet. Major Additions - Changed the way lactation works: it's no longer a trait, and the more you indulge your lactation fetish, the more milk you'll produce (in theory, untested). - The black dildo pregnancy chance has been added again. Though it's not what you think... There will be more to this later, as hinted in the game. Minor Additions - If you're using alteration magic, you have a 50% chance every day to lower the suspicion created from those spells by 1. Bug Fixes - The latex keyhole dress was resetting Fitness to 10 when tailored. Fleshing out the unit choices

Now that the basic troopers are completed, I will turn to fleshing out the other troop choices. Update 9/20

Not included in the list below is some behind the scenes stuff I set up. It's inconsequential because it's not accessible in the game yet. Major Updates - The landlord now has his fourth option (mostly) implemented. When I get the time, I'll adjust it so that he can use you in one of three ways when he shows up, but for now, it's just a minor sex scene. - A new landlord? A new landlord! Note that the first time you go to the building manager's office is when the game determines which landlord you have, so if you see Jim, you'll need to start a new game to (possibly) see the other one. This is a straight 50-50 chance, and nothing influences it. Minor Updates - Buying a lot of stuff from the drug dealer will now allow you to call him. Yeah, I called it 9/17 in the file name because apparently I'm an idiot who doesn't pay attention to things. Go me. Major Updates - The clothing system is now completely revamped in terms of fitting and tailoring. If your fitness changes, you will now receive a warning when your clothes don't fit right, at which point they can be tailored. If you continue to ignore the warnings and your fitness continues to change, your clothes will not fit at all and need to be tailored. The window for wearing clothes is therefore increased. Minor Updates - Nothing, really Bug Fixes - The Daiquiri at the bar now costs the correct amount of money. - Your breasts (and fitness) will no longer change when you get your clothes tailored. Also, as a side note to everyone that requested that I change the way clothes work so that you can wear clothes without having to worry about going to tailor and blah blah blah. An Explanation

So why did I make a big fuss Friday about people donating when I'd asked people to donate? Simple answer: I'm not greedy. I added the post about donations just before I went to my job in a call center, where obviously I don't want to do anything related to this blog or this game for fear of losing said job. Unfortunately, when the donations started to come in fast and furious, I had no way to update the goal counter. When I reached the goal, I was happy. When I started to greatly exceed the goal, I felt like a liar. Were people donating just to help reach the goal that, unbeknownst to them, had been reached hours before? Or were people donating simply in support of the project? Because I didn't know, I had to assume the former, and if they were donating to reach the goal that had already been reached, but I couldn't update the goal, then they were giving me money under false pretenses. When I hit $100 dollars, I started to panic. When I hit $200, I desperately con

While I appreciate everyone donating to support this project, for god's sake, stop. Please. I have been at work all night, and unable to update the donation amount to reach the goal, and in that time, I've managed to somehow reach a total of $281 donated. Which is obviously well beyond the goal for the rest of the month , not to mention the rest of the week. So, please. Please stop. Thank you again for all your support, and rest assured, I really, really do appreciate that everyone is as interested in the game as you obviously are. I'm not going to turn off donations, so if you want to request something, feel free (especially if you already donated! There's no such thing as a bug-free release... Bug Fixes - "Get Dressed" now works properly with the new clothing system. - Adjusted the player description so it will now update everything properly, in theory. Oh, and just a note: still about $32 from the goal for the week. The stick: Not reaching the goal for this week means no new versions for download next week. Update 9/16

It's Bug Fix Friday! Important Note: You will need to update RAGS to version 2.2.9.0 in order to play this release. Major Updates - Changed the way the clothing system works for breasts. Now, you have a slightly wider range for breast size, allowing you to wear clothes after your breasts change size. In addition, when your breasts are at the limit of the range, you'll get a notice and the clothing will be flagged for tailoring, so you can get it altered to your new size while still being able to wear it. I'll work on doing the same for fitness as well in the near future. Note that this is untested, so it could be buggy (but the logic is sound). Yuuuuuup. Major Updates - New random encounter "wolf howls". Also tweaked the random encounters that are in the game currently, so that they're a little more evenly likely. Note that "wolf howls" is actually just the beginning of something new, though you can probably figure out what's likely to result from it. Minor Updates - Mostly finished the new submissive girl at the bar. - Magic has been split off into its own section in the Status actions, only visible once you unlock magic. It will also show your current skill with the various magic schools. Bug Fixes - Fixed the Induce Lust, Induce Confidence, and Illusion spells so that they should be showing up properly, and you shouldn't be able to buy them more than once (actually true for all spells now). - Minor tweaks, nothing important. Note: If you're using RAGS 2.2.9.0, you'll need to update the game files before you can play it. To do so, open the file in RAGS Designer. It will ask for a pass

Update 9/14a

Apparently RAGS changed some internal arguments and didn't let me know. Bug Fixes - Periods should be working again, and with that, pregnancy. Also, while I didn't actually get a chance to work on the game, I did come up with a few interesting ideas that I'm going to try to flesh out today and tomorrow. Finally, since it's important, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning to get my teeth drilled. So the stream will be delayed, and when it does come back, I might be mumbling. Or muted. But I will post a notice here when I start streaming, so keep an eye out.

Update 9/14

For all you pregnancy-lovers out there. Major Updates - Pregnancy progression is now partially implemented. Alice will comment on it, other people will not. You will notice changes through the pregnancy, however. More on this as I keep adding to the pregnancy system. Minor Updates - Added a new spell to the magic shop. Note that although it can be purchased, it's not yet implemented. - Changed the price of the TV upgrades. The EDTV now costs $250, and the HDTV costs $500. Also properly activated the adult channel option on the HDTV. - Sunglasses now available to hide your inhuman eyes (or just to wear and look cool). Bug Fixes - The overcoat is automatically removed when you go to the Living Room from the Foyer, and when you strip at the strip club changing room. I'm actually going to try to work on this some more today, so watch this post. I might upload a new version (9/14a or 9/14b) before I go to work today. But don't hold me to that.

Making a good miniature even better

Mark over at Dropship Horizon once said, “To hell with your fluff, tell me a story with your miniature” That stuck with me. Having built my fair share of 1:35 scale dioramas, I completely agree with the statement. Here we have a Sturmtruppen but how can I tell a story with a miniature? Options!, lots of poses and accessories to make each miniature unique. Let’s start with how the miniature breaks down. Having separate heads arms and chest will allow you a great deal of freedom when posing each model. Here are six leg poses, I can mirror many of these and easily come up with ten different leg poses. Here are some weapon options, some hip fired some shoulder fired and some are both.   Here is an accessory pack, LOADS of options to customize your unit. Arm raised in halt, throwing a grenade, pointing, double gunning with pistols or SMG’s. Hand replacement options for knife fights, carrying rifles, ammo boxes, etc. Items such as pistol holsters, combat knifes, ammo pouches and med-packs. A

As always, I never get as much done as I want to. I blame Fenoxo for distracting me. Major Updates: - The minor, normal and major versions of the alteration spells are now implemented. - The induce lust, induce luck, and induce confidence spells are now implemented. Minor Updates: - The testing item has a new option: Advance Day. This only works in the bedroom, as it essentially does a day ending check at any time of the day. - The suspicion game over check will now only trigger if your suspicion is greater than 50. Otherwise, people just give you weird looks (if it's greater than 0). Bug Fixes and Adjustments: - The testing item has a new option: Show Mana Bar. You can use this at any time, but it is intended to be used when you load a saved game and the mana status doesn't show up properly. - The Anonymous Donation option of the testing item now adds $1000 instead of $100, to save some clicking time. - The "Go to the Lab" option now properly deactivates when you tur

Update 9/12

Quite a lot of groundwork laid today, which isn't terribly exciting at times, but it is necessary for the exciting things! Major Updates - You can now buy magic spells at the magic shop. All of them can be purchased, but not all of them work yet. The ones that work are the Illusion School spells, the Glowing Lights spell, and the Induce Lust spell. Minor Updates - When looking for a date at the bar, your sexuality is now taken into account: lesbians look for women, straights look for men, and bisexuals look for whoever's available. - New person at the bar (male). - Smoking is now considered a drug addiction rather than a trait. Each time you smoke will increase the length of your withdrawal by 5 days, and withdrawal is the same effect as before (arousal increase at the beginning of the next day).  Bug Fixes - If you hide from the security guard at the lab, he will no longer hang out in lab 2, preferring lab 1 or lab 3 instead. - Altered some transformation events so that they t

In Regards To Racial Transformations

The question keeps coming up: are there going to be racial transformations in Cursed ? The short answer: yes. The long answer: Well... The problem with racial changes is this: they all come down to poof TFs. As you may know, I'm not a fan of poof, or instantaneous, TFs. I personally believe that they're cop-outs, really, a way of writing a transformation without actually doing a transformation. That's why, in Cursed , every single transformation takes time and effort. Changes shouldn't happen instantaneously is my belief. But for racial changes...what really changes? Skin color, sure, that's a one day thing. Some facial features maybe, but not many, and they're mostly subtle. And...that's it. You're not changing sex, you're not growing new appendages, you're just...altering your look slightly. So that problem that I've encountered is that, in my desire to make all TFs drawn out and unique, I have no idea what to do to make racial TFs

It's a wiki!

So there's a wiki for the game now, at cursedgame.wikia.com . I don't usually edit wikis, but it's safe to say that I'll be keeping an eye on this one. If people put up erroneous information, I'll correct it, but because I'm mostly lazy, I won't put too much information up myself. In other words, feel free to go nuts on it, post lots of crazy specific information, and I'll take care of any errors. In other news, I got some work done over the weekend (shocker!), and then had it promptly undone by a corrupted save of the RAGS file. Interestingly, rather than being a RAGS crashing error, it simply deleted most of the objects in the object library, which was obviously unworkable. So I started over and worked on some different stuff instead. The good news is that smoking has been changed from a trait to an addiction (albeit an almost cripplingly sadistic one, as each cigarette you smoke increases the time you suffer from withdrawal by 5 days ), and I've a

Eisenkern Kriegsmarines

You have seen the earlier version of the Eisenkern Kriegsmarines here , These renders show the models one step closer to completion. In these renders, the trooper is wearing his drop pack. A device that allows the trooper to jump form a very high altitude, fall at terminal velocity towards its target and stop just before impacting the planet’s surface. This is achieved by creating a micro tear into void space, encapsulating the trooper in what is essentially a bubble of reality that overrides the laws of physics for a brief moment, saving the trooper from a grizzly impact. The effects to an observer would be a blinding flash; a two-meter ball of energy is created encapsulating the trooper, then a huge energy release that scars the earth at the point of impact. Scrambling from this crater, a Kreigsmarine, his armor popping and pinging as it cools. I will post some images of the component view a bit later today.

Mechs for the Republic

DreamForge Games has purchased the rights for a wonderful lineup of Elysium Republic light mechs and robots. We will be producing these in 15mm and 28mm scale for table top gaming. The chunky utilitarian feel fits perfectly with the Republic, who prefers light fast vehicles that are quick to transport and deploy.

Update 9/9 (Boring!)

It really is a boring update. Major Updates - None Minor Updates - Added the front closet, which is where hats and the overcoat go. - Increased maximum height to 6'10" (7' with platform shoes). Bug Fixes - Changed the way height is calculated when using the platform shoes and boots. - Fixed shoes again , motherfucker. And if they're not properly working this time, I reserve the right to shoot myself, right in the head. - Made the black dildo usable, and moved it to the correct room. - The cashmere overcoat now hides your wings, if you have them, to reduce your suspicion. - The security door in the lab should now be properly accessible if you have set off the alarm. - Added the description of the cum addition trait. - You now see your inhuman traits when you use the examine command (unless you're fully transformed).

The Manual?

It's come up more than a few times that people keep getting stuck in Cursed not from programming issues, but simply because they don't know what to do. More than a few have requested hints, and some have requested outright walk-throughs or instructions. Now, I've always kind of intended to created a "manual" for the game, but I'm starting to think that it would be more trouble personally than it would be worth. While I'm still open to the idea, the prevalence of wikis seems to suggest that's the way to go. But I'm not so good with the wiki-stuff. So, looking for suggestions. Should I just write the damn help-guide? Or would someone be willing to help me set up a wiki? Or has someone already started a wiki and just hasn't told me?

Update 9/8 (Reuploaded)

There was a problem with the Suspicion check (I got it backwards). New version uploaded at 2:13pm EDT. Important note: The game is now saved as a .rar file archive, in an attempt to prevent the "unreadable" error. So, you'll need WinRar or something to open the file now. Major Updates - A new "Suspicion" mechanic. The more obviously inhuman you look, the more likely bad things will happen to you when you leave your apartment. Currently, it's just a warning, but eventually, you'll actually have to defend yourself or run away or...something. Minor Updates - New items: a coat, hats (which hide inhuman ears), and collars. The coat and collars don't do anything yet, but they're added to take advantage of a couple of things I'm planning on adding soon. - New item: black dildo. Currently has the same arousal reduction as the regular dildo, but also carries a 10% chance of impregnation. When I get off my ass and finish it, it will reduce your arousa

Wooooooooo! Major Updates - Cow transformation is active. It's probably easier to get than the cat or succubus transformation (hint: breast pump). - You can now grow wings, though it'll take a while. You have to have the right object, and not sell it to get wings. Minor Updates - Adjusted the prices for the thief tools, in this case downwards. - Animal Heat, when unlocked, now does something (arousal minimum = 50% for three specific days). Bug Fixes - You can no longer call Maria after delivering the strange artifact. Technical Notes When downloading the game, make sure you're choosing the Save File option or the equivalent. If you open it directly, you have a very high chance of getting the "Sorry, this RAGS file is unreadable" error. If you are saving the file before opening it, there's a couple other things you can try. First, instead of opening the file by double-clicking the icon, open RAGS Player first, then choose the "Open A New Game" option

Update 9/6

The game will say 9/3 because I'm freaking stupid, but it's actually version 9/6. Major Additions - Succubus and Cat transformations are available. They are (currently) cosmetic only. To initiate, talk to the drug dealer and take the herbal pill (succubus) or the pink pill (cat), or, when you have the option of stealing from the lab, take the weird painting (succubus, look at it once a day) or the Egyptian statue (cat, just having it is enough). Minor Additions - There's a new magic shop in the mall, but you have to have some talent (read: you have to have the magic skill) to get there. - The "big breasts" ending has been disabled while I work on another effect. Bug Fixes - You can now call Maria if you successfully steal the strange artifact. - Stealing objects from the lab will now properly place them around your apartment and make them sellable when you return home. - You can no longer hide in the laboratory storage room if you've already dealt with the gua

Stream Over

The stream is up. Today: transformation basics. Stream is over. I didn't get as much done tonight as I wanted to, but some important baseline stuff as been added. I'll be streaming again at my usual 10am EST timeslot tomorrow. No release tonight, simply because the bugfixes that I did were extremely minor or completely inconsequential, and the new stuff isn't actually in the game yet.

This is generally why I don't like using beta versions of things. I've updated the game to be compatible with RAGS 2.2.8.0, since some people were reporting problems with 2.2.7.0. The download link won't look like it's changed, but it has. In other news, my schedule tomorrow is all screwed up due to the holiday, so I'll actually be streaming in the evening/night. I will post an update when I get more information (I'm flying by the seat of my pants), and I'll probably work on the game a bit during the day, but yeah. So you know. And in case you're wondering, I came up with a full page of ways that transformation will work, so I have a solid framework for them, which is what I'll be implementing this week. Along with some pregnancy effects. FYI, to those that were curious, you CAN get pregnant in the game, it just doesn't DO much of anything; people don't comment on it, and once you get to 17 weeks, you're effectively screwed as you can

Plans for Next Week

So I think the plan for the next week is to work on implementing things that are hinted at and/or in the game currently, but not working. That would be transformations, pregnancy and so on. Not exactly exciting stuff (to me), but interesting and kind of necessary at this point, because if I get much farther in this game without actually adding that stuff in, it will be much, much harder to add later. Another thing: someone asked if I was looking for submissions for certain things, like dreams and such. I wasn't really, but you know what? I could use a distraction for that stuff. So here's the deal: If you want to write up a dream sequence, or a random event (include choices!), or something of that nature that fits into the game , then feel free to email it to me. Well, I was intending to get a level or two in Final Fantasy XI, but since there's significant bugs in the release today, guess I'll need to work on that instead. Dammit. But yeah, streaming. Probably (everything up to the security room has been confirmed as working). - The traits system is working again (note to self: don't turn it off for testing purposes). - The "arousal" status bar item is now visible from the beginning of the game until I figure out a different way to make it work.

This is the bug fix update. Didn't have a lot of time to add new features, but this is also a major feature update, since the lab is actually reachable now. Swear to god. Cross my heart. Major Updates - Tested the activation of the "Go To The Lab" command, and it shows up, finally. And it does something too. Minor Updates - A couple of minor UI tweaks, nothing terribly major. - Made the box of tampons work like the box of condoms (i.e. you can buy them repeatedly, in batches of ten). Bug Fixes - You cannot drink the bottle of milk in public anymore. - Did some adjustments to footwear to hopefully squash the random non-natural charisma bonuses and penalties becoming permanent. - The guitar and computer now check to see the time of day, and prevent use if it's too late. - Maria will not show up fourteen days after the day she offers you the first "mission" if you turned her down. - After reading the note and getting the information about being able to contact

Uncertain Schedule Tomorrow

In addition to short-notice apartment inspection, I have promised my gigantic manly muscles to a task tomorrow that doesn't yet have a specific time in which I'm expected to help. So I don't know exactly when I'll be streaming tomorrow, and when I do stream, it might be a little abbreviated, as I also have to work, but I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I start.

Man, it's September? When did that happen? By the by, updated to RAGS version 2.2.7.0. There's a link to it in the changelog on the right. Major Additions - Lab is now accessible. I forgot to activate the command. The only thing that should be missing (intentionally) from the lab is the possibility of dealing with the police. Also, the "Unique Outfit" option for successfully completing Maria's request isn't in, because I don't yet have the outfit planned out. Minor Updates - Added a couple few new items. There is now a computer available for purchase, with some software for skill increases, and a guitar. Both end up in the kitchen, because the kitchen needed some love.
