Progress!

Two rooms left for the second trial in Trials of Taihra-Firanae . It's going to be significantly shorter than the first trial, because I figured out how to make it work. In the first trial, in addition to karmic choices, there were choices that affected changes in the real world. After struggling for a while trying to figure out how to put such actions in the second trial, I decided that I didn't need to. Instead, the second trial will focus almost exclusively on karmic choices, and, thanks to the fact that its so short, you'll be able to head back to the real world (assuming you don't meet some sort of tragic end...) and interact with Lynn and Jack some more. Once the second trial and all the real world actions of the fifth day are complete, the third trial and the sixth day will be the order of the day. I'm not sure how long the third trial will be, but I think it will mostly focus on non-karmic choices. By the third trial, your morality should be mostly figured o

Schedule Settled

So, my training at my new job has ended, and my schedule has settled down a bit more to nights and weekends.Which actually works out well, since my highest level of creativity is in the morning. So I should be able to get some more work done now. Updates to come later today.

Lack Of Updates

Sorry for the lack of updates here, folks. It's been a very busy month for me. I moved in the first week of March, went to PAX East in the second week (it was three days, but it takes a while to prepare, especially after you've just moved), and finally left the ranks of unemployment after nine months in the third week. I'm not yet dead, and still working on things, but not substantially. Hopefully that'll change in the next few days or weeks as I settle into a new routine, but for now, things are a little stalled. That being said, I have a few ideas on how I can continue to work on things with Trials of Taihra-Firanae , and Cursed is always on a back burner, never completely off the stove. So expect news in about a week or so, if not sooner. Thanks for staying tuned in, and keep watching for updates.

Back!

So I'm back from PAX East, which was fantastic, and I even learned a few things about game design. Back to work tomorrow, tonight I'm just going to chill out and try to recover.

Ever want to be immortalized in a game system? Here is your chance….

Here is your chance to have a character, a major settlement, a military unit, a planet or planetary system, and yes…even a model named after you or given a name of your choosing. (Pending Approval). Currently called the Black Widow... Could be named?? You decide. I could lock myself away and develop Iron-Core in a vacuum, but I prefer to hear other viewpoints and receive input from the community that will be using this system. I will post rules sections on the forum for review, any input that ultimately ends up in the game will earn the poster -Contribution Points-. When the game goes to beta testing the contributors will be notified as to what level they have earned and will be given the choice to use either their name or a fictional name of their making. The contributors may then submit three names (I will choose one of the three) that will be used to name a character, a major settlement, a military unit, a planet or planetary system and even a model, created or yet to be created. Crazy Week

It's been a pretty busy week for me, so I haven't had much time to work on either of my current projects, but I've had time to think things through, and I've come up with a couple ideas for Trials . Hopefully, I'll have some time in the next couple of days to do something about implementing them.

John Bear Ross Is Published!

Many of you know John from his amazing cad work, designing models for Rebel Minis, MERCS and many others. Did you know he is also a writer? He worked long and hard on a pulp sci-fi project back in 2008. John is now a published author. You can find his literary genius here... Moved!

Move (mostly) complete. There's going to be a shit ton of stuff to do for the next few days, but I should be able to get some work done on a game or two. Unfortunately (for anyone waiting for a release, not me), this weekend coming will be fully occupied by PAX East, so there'll be another two-three days with no substantive updates. Just letting you know in advance.

DreamForge-Games Forum Is Now Operational!

Image
With the (hopefully soon) beta testing of Iron-Core it was time to open a forum. Forum Banner Art You can find the forum here Why a forum when I have a blog? A blog is a great place to post news but when you need feedback or a place to ask and answer more in depth questions, a forum is a far better tool. It also allows me to email all my members with important news such as pre-orders and new product information as well as special offers. Although the forum is primarily designed for DreamForge products, you are free to discuss any games or minis. As the discussions grow, I will tweak or add boards to allow for easy searches and updates. It has been some time since DreamForge had a forum and I miss the communal exchange of ideas and feedback. The members of the old forum helped to shape Iron-Core and it is my hope that this communal effort will continue and enrich the Iron-Core universe. Will I still update the Blog? Absolutely! It is still the best place to check for up to the minuet ne

No Work for Awhile

Unfortunately, as I'm moving over the next few days, there won't be much in terms of updates this weekend. Hopefully, I'll have something to report on Monday.

Cursed Page

After a discussion today, I realized (after it was thrown in my face, politely) that I've kind of been assuming that people reading this know what I'm talking about. Which, even in real life, isn't always the case. So there's a new page on the blog (look up) about Cursed , describing the game in general terms. I probably won't do the same for Trials , just because I don't think it's needed nearly as much. Probably not too much work on development today. I have various RL things happening.

Height, Muscles and Body Shapes

So a few things have happened in Cursed yesterday. First of all, I implemented height and muscles. Height is somewhat flavor, with a range from 5 feet to 6 feet, 4 inches, in one inch increments. There are some advantages to being tall, making you somewhat more commanding and dominant in certain situations, and advantages to being short, allowing you to fit into places that you otherwise would find difficult to do. Naturally, some people will prefer taller or shorter girls, like other variables. Muscles are a little different. There's several levels, from non-existant to bodybuilder. Muscles is not just fluff, though: it's an actual measure of your personal strength, and will come into play in situations where you need to use strength to prevail. If, for example, you're crazy enough to walk down that dark alley in the middle of the night and get attacked by a mugger/rapist, if you're strong enough, you can force your attacker to give up, but if you're weak...
